San Mateo County Voucher Program Updates

Starting April 1, 2025, San Mateo County residents can apply for vouchers that cover 100% of TNR spay/neuter surgeries, and for privately-owned pets, provide $150 to offset spay/neuter costs for cats.

What we do at Nine Lives

We are a community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating a cat-only clinic and adoption center. We rescue at-risk cats and kittens, provide them with clinical care and nurturing to address their medical and behavioral needs — great or small — and find them loving forever homes. We are committed to addressing the overpopulation of homeless cats by providing low-cost spay and neuter services for those in our community.

Adoptions

We are open for adoptions Wednesdays through Sundays. Our goal is to place our cats and kittens in safe, permanent homes and living situations depending on age, temperament, and health status. We welcome adoptions of indoor-only, indoor-outdoor, and barn, business, and winery cats.

Low-cost Spay & Neuter

Accessible, affordable spay and neuter is critical to the welfare and stability of a community’s animal population. We proudly offer low-cost spay/neuter surgeries for privately owned cats, community cats (TNR), and cat rescue organizations.

Low-Cost Vaccines

Nine Lives can help keep your cat healthy and thriving! In addition to providing low-cost vaccines, our vaccine clinics offer testing, deworming, microchipping, and nail trimming. Clinics are held most Wednesdays from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at 749 Brewster Avenue in Redwood City (please check the vaccines page for the latest information).
